Al Eqbal Real Estate Development and Marriott International have signed a deal to open a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Amman in 2020.
The hotel will be built on the city’s Fifth Circle, adjacent from three other five-star hotels, and feature 230 guest rooms, fitness center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa, and a 1,000 square-meter ballroom. Ninety Ritz-Carlton branded residences in an adjacent tower will also be offered for sale.
“Through The Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences in Amman, we aim to enhance the hospitality sector with luxury offerings in line with the highest international standards,” the owner of Al Eqbal Real Estate Development, Tawfik Fakhouri, said in a statement.
Marriot International, which owns the Ritz-Carlton brand, already operates five hotels in Jordan and aims to double this number over the next four years.
“We are delighted to be working with Al Eqbal Real Estate to introduce The Ritz-Carlton in Jordan. This property will play a significant role in catering to the desires of leisure and business tourists alike,” said Alex Kyriakidis, Marriott International’s regional manager.
Along with The Ritz-Carlton in Amman, the brand plans to open properties in Tunis, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharm El Sheikh and three properties across Morocco.
