A young Jordanian entrepreneur has created a new app that delivers gas cylinders to homes.
Fifteen-year-old Fares Abu-Shehab said his Jarra app should help save families the time and effort that would otherwise be spent on searching for gas distributors in their neighborhoods. “I am hoping that the app will live up to our expectations of organizing and facilitating gas cylinder distribution across the country,” he said. “This in fact is of extreme importance during the winter season and other occasions during which the demand for gas cylinders is at it’s highest.”
Abu-Shehab hopes the new app will reduce the noise and pollution caused by gas trucks roaming the capital throughout the day. “One day and as I was heading home
from school, I noticed that a gas truck parked in the middle of the road was blocking traffic, not to mention the extreme disturbance its loud music was causing. That’s when I realized that some form of solution must be devised to curb this phenomenon, and that’s how the idea for Jarra App was born,” he told Venture.
The app is available to download on both iOS and Android devices.
