The new 2016 Volkswagen Passat will be available in Jordan in two stylish configurations. The Passat is the smart choice for a winning combination of design, innovation, technology and improved safety features.
Volkswagen Jordan, represented by Nuqul Automotive, has announced the arrival of the new 2016 Passat at the Volkswagen showroom in Amman. With a striking new design, innovative technology and enhanced value, the 2016 model will be offered in two dynamic styles – SEL and Sport at the affordable starting price of JOD 29,950
“The new Passat is the smart choice for an affordable mid-size saloon with class-leading space and innovative technology. Offering enhanced value, the new model includes state-of-the-art technology including the new generation radio (MIIB) with Volkswagen App Connect. Our customers can expect the same precise handling with optimum comfort they have come to know from Volkswagen, in addition to new and sophisticated passenger centric safety features” ” said Imad Hanania, Dealer Principal for Volkswagen in Jordan.
The new exterior offers slimmer headlights, a more substantial four-bar grille, and a muscular, domed hood blending the features harmoniously to give the Passat a wider, more planted stance at the front end. Additionally, a new chrome strip on the trunk ensures the rear lights appear lower to enhance the grounded appearance, while chrome accents on the window frames, bumpers, and door trims extenuate the car’s premium design upgrade.
Inside, the 2016 Passat showcases an extensively upgraded interior, for a more sophisticated look and feel. These include a new passenger seat designs, a new multi-function steering wheel, two-tone décor panels, and a refined chrome or piano black trim.
The new Passat characteristics include safety, convenience, and the modern driver. -The SEL and Sport models are both offered with Park Assist – a feature enabling the driver to park at ease in busy cities, particularly in tight spaces thanks to distance measuring sensors on both the front and rear of the vehicle and a high quality rear camera display.
As standard, the Passat offers a new touchscreen infotainment system. The display utilises a capacitive touch sensor (similar to smartphone and tablet technology) enabling gesture controls like swiping and pinch-zooming rather than the resistive touchscreens that require pressure and have slightly longer response times.
The infotainment units also feature a proximity sensor, which detects when a hand is nearby and automatically switches its display to allow easier selection of specific features. USB and Bluetooth® connectivity are standard on all 2016 Passat models.
Featuring the three major smartphone integration platforms—Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and MirrorLink®, the in-car infotainment system allows seamless integration with the vast majority of smartphones available today.
Volkswagen also offers a combination of new safety and driver assistance systems in the 2016 Passat. The Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, standard on all models, builds on the premise that a collision is rarely a single, instantaneous action, but rather a series of events that follow the initial impact— which can cause additional collisions. The system helps address this by applying the brakes after a primary collision is detected by the airbag sensors, thus helping to reduce residual kinetic energy and, in turn, reduce the chance of additional damage.
