Magma Lifestyle and Fitness Center

A Finer Way to Keep Fit

The Finer Things (Magma Gym)

Are you on the look for an exclusive gym where you can shape up without the hassle of having to wait in line for a treadmill? Well, Magma could be just what you’re looking for.

Members have full access to a myriad of state of the art equipment, which are spread across four floors at the fitness center’s Abdoun location. Personal trainers are on hand to help out with the Synrgy360 cross-training machine, which has 16 different stations that cover up to 250 exercises. There’s also an indoor/outdoor exercise track, a rooftop area for classes, and many of the fitness machines are fitted with large monitors that allow you to surf the Internet, play video games, watch TV, or—our personal favorite—enjoy virtual hikes through a variety of scenic landscapes.

The reason why you might not have heard of this gym before is because it relies on word-of-mouth to recruit new members. It currently has 320, and when its maximum capacity of 500 is reached, a waiting list will be imposed.

Fine Foods

The Meat Master

Spotting a gap in the market to cater for Amman’s more discerning foodies in 2012, Mohammad Nasouh Kaylani decided to set up The Meat Master gourmet butchery in Sweifieh. It sources a huge variety of meats from around the world, including an Australian wagyu fillet which sells for JD115 per kilo. This summer, Kaylani expanded his budding culinary empire by opening a cheese shop and deli next door. Cheese & More stocks every conceivable type of cheese, such as the award-winning, truffle-infused Villa Truffo from Italy, in addition to yellow cheeses, French cheeses, local and imported white cheeses, pickles and olives (some are home-made), cold cuts, fresh salads, and cheese platters.
